Hi, I am Maria.

I write book reviews and pair them with my favorite beers. I mostly read world literature, non-fiction, and occasionally memoirs. Books help me understand the world and reflect on things.

Here are a few facts about me:

- I live in beautiful Edinburgh, Scotland. Before that, I lived in three other countries.

- I speak five languages fluently (and two more at a basic level). I love learning different languages and cultures, and reading books from around the world is very important to me.

- My absolute favorite beers are Belgian or Belgian-style. My second favorite thing is trying pale ales, XPAs, and IPAs from around the world. In winter, it's stout time.
