My first book recommendation for 2025 has to be this little gem. It’s a book that requires minimum commitment but offers a big impact:

“The Daily Stoic” is a straightforward book that makes Stoicism easily accessible.

It is divided into 365 chapters and features short original quotes from Stoic thinkers, along with helpful explanations of how these can be applied to our daily lives.

I keep this book on my desk and try to start each workday by reading one quick chapter. It gives me food for thought and helps start the day right.

Each meditation is shorter than a page and can be read on its own, making it the perfect coffee table book to open on any page and enjoy.

Of course, it’s not the right book if you want to explore stoicism in depth, but “The Daily Stoic” can serve as a great starting point.

Here’s to meditating more in 2025!

I never post book reviews without a beer recommendation — there’s no Dry January in my Medium!

The beer of the day is from my local Edinburgh brewery, Moonwake, which also happened to be my favorite brewery of 2024.

Today’s beer is a West Coast Pale, brewed in collaboration with the Bristol brewery Good Chemistry and featuring American hops. It’s rich, flavorful, and surprisingly strong — loved it!

I write book reviews, pair them with my favorite beers, and reflect on what the future brings.
