“The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly”: A Heartwarming Book On Life and Social Norms
This book by Sun-mi Hwang will steal your heart
Today’s very short, touching book is a fable like story featuring animals.
The main character is a hen named Sprout.
Sprout is an egg-laying hen living in the closed away space with other hens.
From her nook, she sees the barn where other animals roam free. She dreams of escaping and living on the farm freely.
It is a short, beautiful, sad story about motherhood, pressure of social norms and independence, bullying, and much more.
The style of narration is really captivating. I truly could not put this short book down and can recommend it as a perfect read for a rainy Sunday.

Beer of the day is Pêch Mel Bush, a fruit beer (not lambic!) with peach flavor. It is crisp and light and peachy – perfect for a sunny, spring afternoon. I had this beer in beautiful Bruges, Belgium:
